See more detail on how your teams use GitHub Copilot

We’ve revamped the GitHub Copilot activity view to give you more granular and accurate data on how your organization is using AI.

Active users, broken down by feature. You can now see the number of active users by the Copilot features they use — code completion, chat, and agent mode. The previous view relied on GitHub’s broad definitions of active and engaged users, which also counted users regardless of the features they used.

More activity data across features. Instead of only seeing code completion data, you can now view requests and AI-generated lines of code across 7 features, including agent mode, inline chat, and code completion. This makes it easier to see which teams are taking advantage of the more advanced Copilot features and how usage is trending over time.

Chat requests by model. See which AI models your teams are using for Copilot chat — whether it’s Claude Opus 4.6, GPT-5.4, or something else. This helps you understand whether people are sticking with defaults or experimenting with the latest models, which can serve as a starting point for a conversation about which ones perform best for you.

Swarmia teams instead of GitHub teams. Data is now grouped by Swarmia teams, making it consistent and comparable with other views in Swarmia. There’s no minimum team size restriction anymore.

As before, you can also view lines changed by language and editor — useful for understanding whether Copilot usage matches your codebase or if some languages are over- or underrepresented.

To get started, navigate to AI tools → AI activity → GitHub Copilot in Swarmia and follow the instructions to enable Copilot usage metrics in your GitHub organization settings. You’ll get historical activity data starting from December 12, 2025.
