Catch org-level changes early with new signals for engineering leaders
Signals are already great at flagging team-level anti-patterns like high work in progress or stale pull requests. Now, we’re expanding the set with signals built for engineering leaders, so you can catch the changes that matter at the organization level too.
The newest additions to signals:
- Investment balance changes — get notified when investment in a category shifts up or down
- Team capacity changes — spot sudden staffing shifts before they affect delivery
- Cross-team patterns — see when the same signal fires across multiple teams at once, a sign of something structural rather than a one-off
You don’t have to work out what’s behind a signal on your own, either. Swarmia AI looks at the work items behind the signal, works through the likely root causes, and suggests actions based on Swarmia’s engineering knowledge — all in a single click. Save the analysis as an annotation, add your own notes, and take it to your team.
Signals refresh daily, so if the underlying data changes, an open signal will usually clear the next day. You can also directly mark a signal as resolved, or snooze any that aren’t relevant for you.
You’ll find your most important signal on your home page, and the rest sorted by severity on the signals page. Or have signals delivered to you by setting up a weekly digest in Slack or Microsoft Teams, for yourself or your team. Read more about how signals work in our documentation.
Leadership signals are in beta, and the set of metrics they cover will keep growing. Tell us which ones you’d find useful at hello@swarmia.com.
