See how AI token usage maps to your investment balance

As AI tools become part of everyday engineering work, it’s helpful to know where exactly your tokens are going. Investment balance now includes two new modes, AI tokens and blended, alongside the existing effort mode.

AI tokens shows how token usage is spread across your investment categories. This helps you see what kind of work AI is enabling most in your organization. For example, you might find that most tokens go toward building new things, or that a larger share than expected goes toward keeping the lights on.

Blended combines developer cost and AI token usage into a single cost analysis. Instead of looking at AI spend on its own, you can see it alongside the cost of the engineering time it supports. This gives you a more realistic picture of what each category of work costs.

These modes are most useful for engineering leaders who want to understand where AI is making a difference. They also help anyone who reports on engineering investments to finance or company leadership.

To get started, go to the investment balance view and choose a mode at the top left of the chart. AI tokens mode is available if you have AI cost data in Swarmia. Blended mode is available to admins.
