Go beyond built-in reports with the new data exploration view

Swarmia gives you strong defaults out of the box, but your team’s questions don’t always fit neatly into a pre-made view. The new explore view lets you build, customize, and save reports that show the exact data you need, whether it’s a combination of metrics, a simplified version of a report, or a drill-down into a specific problem area.

Start a new report from scratch or pick a ready-made template as your starting point. You can also take any existing Swarmia report into the explore view and tweak it to your needs by clicking the explore link at the bottom of the page.

Use the explore view to:

  • Build reports combining engineering and financial metrics — like FTE and capitalizable effort — across teams, time periods, and categories.
  • Understand AI usage and adoption across individuals and teams, measuring how much AI is used, comparing behaviors, and analyzing its impact on development patterns.
  • Take any existing report and add or remove columns to match exactly what you need to see, then save or export it.

To get started, find explore under metrics in the navigation, or go directly to app.swarmia.com/explore. You can also click the link on any existing report page to open it in explore and start customizing from there.
